At his episcopal ordination on June 18th  Ireland’s newest bishop, Bishop Paul Connell of the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois said that “the Synodal Process inaugurated by Pope Francis gives us an opportunity to become a listening Church. In his words, it enables us to break out of our routine in order to stop and listen – firstly to the Spirit in adoration and prayer and then to our brothers and sisters – their hopes, the crisis of faith around the world and the need for renewed pastoral life.

On Sunday 25th He led the people of the Cathedral parish in prayer at the  Annual Cemetery Mass in Ballymacormack.  We congratulate Him and assure him of our prayer that with him as a fellow pilgrim along the way and guided by him as chief shepherd of
our diocesan family, we may all remain connected in friendship with
the Lord and with each other.
