FEAST OF ALL SAINTS
FEAST OF THE HOLY SOULS

‘Death is the end of earthly life,
but not of our existence’
On the Feast of All Saints we celebrate the
victorious sons and daughters who have
already seen the Lord face to face. On All
Souls Day we celebrate all the faithful
departed, especially those who are still on their
way into the fullness of God’s presence. These
are hope filled days, reassuring us that there is
continuity between the here and the hereafter.
The gate of death is the gate of life. We are
no mere mortals. We are going somewhere.
There is something more beyond. Our daily
voyage is but a pilgrimage towards the place
we call home. November provides us with
the opportunity to pause, reflect and clarify
life and its’ destination. It’s a month that is
tied together with the heartstrings of grace,
gratitude and, above all, hope.
‘Eternal life is like immersing yourself in the
ocean of infinite love where time – a before
and an after – no longer exists.’
(Pope Benedict).
