A Day of Faith and Fellowship at Knock Shrine

The Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois gathered at Knock Shrine for a special diocesan pilgrimage, bringing together parishioners, families, clergy and friends from across the Diocese for a day of prayer, reflection and fellowship.

The pilgrimage provided an opportunity for people from throughout the Diocese to come together as one community of faith and to spend time in prayer at the National Marian Shrine.

The day included a programme of prayer and reflection, giving pilgrims the opportunity to participate in the various celebrations and devotions at Knock Shrine.

The pilgrimage was also an opportunity to pray for the life and mission of the Diocese, for our parishes and communities, for our clergy and religious, and for all those who asked for our prayers.

At the heart of the day was the celebration of the Eucharist, as pilgrims gathered together in thanksgiving and prayer.

A particularly beautiful and prayerful moment of the pilgrimage was Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament with Bishop Paul Connell.

In the quiet of the Basilica, pilgrims gathered before the Blessed Sacrament, placing their intentions and the needs of the Diocese before Christ.

Benediction offered a fitting conclusion to a day centred on prayer, reminding us of Christ’s presence among us and of the importance of taking time to come before Him in prayer.

The Diocese is grateful to everyone who travelled to Knock and helped to make the pilgrimage such a special occasion.

Days such as this are an important opportunity to strengthen our sense of belonging as a diocesan family, to pray together and to renew our faith.

We now share a short video from Benediction at Knock Shrine with Bishop Paul, capturing one of the prayerful moments from the diocesan pilgrimage.
