Diocesan Changes 2025
Fr Gerard Brady, PP Ballymachugh to retire.
Fr Gerry was ordained by Bishop Cahal Daly in St Mel’s Cathedral on 9th June 1974.
Fr Gerry was appointed as curate in Athlone in 1974. He ministered there until his
appointment as a curate in Moate in 1975. He move as a curate to Longford in 1978 and
then subsequently to Killenummery in 1986. Thereafter to Newtowncashel, Co. Longford
In 2015 he was appointed parish priest in Clonmacnois and moved to Ballymachugh in 2016
where as has served as parish priest for the last nine years.
I would like to sincerely thank Fr Gerry for the sterling service he has given to the diocese
over the years. I wish him a long, blessed and fulfilling retirement.

Fr Eamonn McNerney, Archdiocese of Edmonton, Canada, appointed CC Longford.
