Drumshanbo Parish (Murhaun) welcomes new Poor Clares

This week sees the arrival of another sister to the Poor Clare family in Drumshanbo. Sr. Michael has come to join Sr. Jemma and Sr. Paul from the Philippines. Murhaun parish (Drumshanbo) has a long and happy association with the Poor Clare sisters who have carried in prayer the hopes and fears of so many people of our region in their prayers. At present our Diocesan petitions for the World Meeting of Families in August is in their midst.
Commenting on this new development Parish Priest Fr. Frankie Murray said; “On behalf of our Parish Community I extend a warmest of Leitrim welcome to her (Sr. Michael) “Céad Míle Fáilte”.
I pray she will be happy here in her new home and I thank Sr. Marietta and Poor Clare Community in the Philippines, for sending us “three kings” from the East with the wonderful gifts of prayer, music and creativity to share with all of us, like the prayer of the “Bells of Drumshanbo.”
