A very interesting conference, “Irish Catholic Spaces: Pasts and Futures,” was hosted by the Catholic Historical Society of Ireland at DCU.

The conference explored Ireland’s rich Catholic heritage, including 800 years of Franciscan spaces, while also looking towards the future preservation of our sacred heritage.

A significant part of the day was the launch of PARISH, a new database project aimed at recording and preserving Ireland’s sacred heritage.

Bishop Paul Connell attended the conference, which provided an important opportunity to reflect on the history, heritage and future of Catholic spaces across Ireland.

A fascinating day connecting our past with the responsibility to preserve our sacred heritage for future generations.
