The National Novena at Knock Shrine will take place from 13–21 August 2026, bringing together pilgrims from across Ireland and beyond for nine days of prayer, reflection and celebration under the theme “Sheltered in God’s Love”.

This year’s programme features a wide range of speakers from different walks of life, including Mary Kennedy, Bishop Niall Coll, Bishop Kevin Doran, David Wells, Deacon Mark Paine, Fr Richard Gibbons and many others. Their reflections will explore themes of faith, healing, hope, family life and Christian witness in the modern world.

Among the highlights of the novena will be Family Day at Knock Shrine on Sunday, 16 August, as well as the annual Witness Walk on Friday, 21 August.

Novena ceremonies will take place each day at 3.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. in the Basilica, while workshops will be held daily in the Knock Prayer Centre.

As the Basilica continues to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, this year’s novena offers a wonderful opportunity for pilgrims to deepen their faith, entrust their intentions to Our Lady of Knock and spend time in prayer at one of Ireland’s most beloved places of pilgrimage.
