Trócaire’s special appeal on 6th and 7th November 2021 to support its’s work to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in East Africa
Across East Africa, families face a dire threat of famine. People and their livestock are dying of starvation, pushed back by cruel climate shocks and Covid. But it is not too late to help. Trócaire has called for special support for the people of East Africa, where up to 30 million people in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are currently face life-threatening food shortages. Trócaire is currently addressing this and many other crises worldwide. Parishes throughout Ireland are requested to undertake a special Church collection on 6th and 7th November to invite the public to support Trócaire in its work to alleviate this humanitarian crisis in East Africa.
