Anointing of the Sick: takes place regularly in the Hospitals and Nursing Homes. If a family member is in danger of death, a priest is always available to call out to your home for the Last Rites. (Note: this sacrament, like all the sacraments, is for the living. If possible, do not wait until the person is dead to call the priest).

Funerals: Generally, the Funeral Mass is celebrated by the priest of your area, unless you request otherwise. After you have met with your funeral director, you should make an arrangement to meet the priest, who will sit down with you and discuss the Funeral Mass, readings, music, prayers of the faithful.

Our Parish choir is available to sing at the Funeral Mass. Obviously, the hymns and music used should be in keeping with the religious celebration and the setting in the church, in the presence of the Eucharist.

Visit RIP.ie for lists of the latest deaths in the country.

Weddings: Must be booked with at least three months notice. There are no Sunday Weddings in the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnois.

All intending to be married in the Catholic Church must complete a Pre-Marriage Course. You can book locally with ACCORD (6475491, Mon-Fri 10am-1pm). You will need to book a place well in advance.
New requirements for the civil registration of marriages here.
